We know that our clients always want to put their pets' health above financial concerns. But as important as regular preventive care can be for your pet's health, it can still sometimes be difficult to manage these recurring expenses.
Our Pet Wellness Plans 'bundle' all of the preventive services that help to keep your pet healthy throughout the year into an easy monthly payment plan, helping you save money and manage your budget.
What is included in a Pet Wellness Plan?
Our Pet Wellness Plans for Bakersfield cats and dogs of all sizes include the essentials for your pet to thrive.
Our Plans include an annual wellness exam, core vaccinations, nail trim, heartworm testing for dogs, and one additional exam for when your pet is feeling under the weather. Your pet's plan will also include a fecal exam and a 12-month supply of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention medications.
The Importance of Preventive Care
Routine wellness exams are a comprehensive physical checkup for your pet. They allow your vet to find and treat any emerging health issues and check on your pet’s diet to ensure they’re getting enough daily nutrients.

Parasites are a serious threat to your pet's health, and can be deadly if left untreated. Prevention provides the best protection, which is why we provide a 12-month supply of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention medication with every Wellness Plan.
If your pet does become infected, our fecal exams and heartworm tests are designed to catch these life-threatening conditions, which are may be undetectable until your pet becomes seriously ill.

- Can I pay for a full year up front?
Yes, you can pay for the full year when you sign up for your pet's Wellness Plan.
- Do Wellness Plans renew automatically after a year?
Yes, unless you request that we cancel your plan, it will renew automatically each year.
- How do I make the monthly payments?
Your payment information (credit card) is entered into a secure portal when you sign up for your plan. You can choose the withdrawal date between the 1st and 15th of each month that's best for you.
- How does a Pet Wellness Plan help me manage my finances?

- I have more than one pet. Can I get a discount on multiple wellness plans?
When you sign up multiple pets at the same time, you will only pay one $50 enrolment fee.
- My pet is getting older. Does it make sense to buy a Wellness Plan?
Wellness Plans help to keep older pets feeling their very best as they age. Your Wellness Plan can be customized based on your pet's unique recurring needs, and that includes aging-related requirements! Wellness Plans for senior pets include the standard core services, in addition to screening for various age-related diseases and disorders.
- My pet is young and healthy. Does it make sense to buy a Wellness Plan?
Regular preventive veterinary care for young animals can help build a foundation for good life-long health. When you sign your pet up for a Wellness Plan as a puppy or kitten, puppy/kitten vaccinations are included in the monthly fee.
- Should I invest in a Pet Wellness Plan every year?
We highly recommend it! Pet Wellness Plans help our clients manage routine veterinary costs and help ensure that our four-legged patients get the medical care they need on a regular basis.
Why Consider A Wellness Plan - What happens if my pet passes during the 12-month commitment?
If your pet passes away during your 12-month commitment, we will cancel the plan immediately.
- What is the difference between a Pet Wellness Plan and pet insurance?
While both Wellness Plans and pet insurance help you manage the costs of your pet's veterinary care, the types of services they cover are different.
Wellness Plans include annual preventive care costs (things like vaccinations and routine exams), whereas Pet Insurance is designed to cover emergency services, accidents, or specific illnesses.
- What types of Pet Wellness Plans do you offer?
We offer Pet Wellness Plans for small dogs, medium dogs, large dogs, extra-large dogs, giant dogs, and cats.
- Will the Wellness Plan cover all of my pet's healthcare needs?
Wellness plans at Stine Veterinary Hospital cover the annual preventive care that our vet recommends for all cats and dogs (core vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea prevention, and more). You will also receive a 10% discount on any other service your pet needs, excluding food and grooming (e.g. dental procedures, spaying & neutering, etc.).
