About Us
In 1980, Dr. Paulson purchased the Bakersfield Spay Clinic from long-time owner Dr. Barney. Since that time he has converted this clinic into a full service veterinary hospital.

At Stine Vet, we take pride in offering the most complete range of veterinary care, as well as the highest degree of professionalism from our veterinarian and staff members:

Rodger Paulson, DVM Dr. Paulson received his veterinary degree in 1979 from Iowa State University. He has been practicing veterinary medicine and surgery for the past 21 years. Dr. Paulson has extensive clinical experience, and both elective (spay/neuter) and general surgical skills. He is a devoted husband and father of two exceptionally beautiful daughters. The Paulson's share their home with a variety of pets.

Sarah Bell Frank (Office Manager)
Sarah Bell Frank has been assisting you and your pets since 1997. Sarah Bell enjoys everything outdoors, when she is not working she is a very active volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. Sarah Bell has 2 amazing sons, a vibrant daughter, and she is expecting a new addition in November 2011. She and her husband Gavin are very excited to welcome home their new baby. Sarah Bell has a big Great Dane "Norman" who really is her 5 year old daughter's dog and a 19 year old cat "Chris". She would be happy to discuss any hospital policy with you.

Janie Herrera (Assistant Manager)
Janie joined our team in late 2008. Her out going personality and friendly disposition are valued here. Janie has four growing boys that are her world She added a beautiful little girl to her brew in 2010. When not at home raising the youth of tomorrow she enjoys time with friends, reading, and jogging. Janie would love to discuss any voucher program or prescription food with you. Melissa Pickin (Head Technician)
Melissa's signed on in mid 2007 her experience is mainly large animal, she grew up on a dairy here in Bakersfield. She has had many horses and enjoys caring for sick animals. In 2011 Melissa got hitched! When not here loving your animals Melissa is spending quality family time with her new husband and their baby “Teddy” a chocolate mini poodle. If you need more information on your pets procedure Melissa will be happy discuss it with you.

Bryson Mildon (Technician Assistant)
Bryson has a fresh young attitude that is very refreshing. He has really grown and become a valuable part of our team. Bryson is excited about getting his first car and graduating this year. He will be happy to explain discharge instructions and help you to your car with your pet and food.

Stephanie Jones (Technician)
Stephanie is a part time employee who has years of veterinary knowledge and experience. She came from Orange county and found a new home here at Stine Veterinary Hospital. Stephanie is very proficient and caring in her job duties. She will go over your pets after care very thoroughly and care for them like her own while in our hospital. At home she and her husband Robert enjoy playing cards with their family and friends.
